Little Louise Visits Dauphin Island was inspired by a place that holds a very special place in my heart. A dear friend first introduced me to the beauty and charm of Dauphin Island, and from the very first visit, it felt truly magical. The peaceful beaches, pelicans soaring overhead, and unforgettable sunsets filled it with the sweetest memories. It is a place I try to visit every year, and each trip brings even more special moments to treasure. After taking a trip there with my granddaughter, I felt inspired to turn those special moments into a story just for her, and then decided to share it so other little ones and their families could enjoy it too. I wanted to capture the excitement and wonder of a beach vacation through the eyes of a child and create a book families could read before their trip or treasure long after they return home.
Penny the Mini Weenie Plays at the Park was inspired by the dogs who have filled my life and heart over the years. Every pup featured in the story is based on beloved dogs from family and friends, making the book feel especially personal and full of love. One dog holds an especially tender place in my heart, Diego, who was by my side for 17 wonderful years. His love, loyalty, and sweet spirit helped inspire this story in a very special way.The star of the book is Penny, inspired by our newest little love, Penelope, a seven pound black and cream dachshund. She is joined by a sweet little mouse friend, which adds a whimsical Just Mousey touch to the story.
Little Layla was written for my aunt’s great granddaughter and inspired by her passion for ice skating. I wanted to create something truly special for them, and a book felt like the perfect way to capture that joy and love.My hope was to create a keepsake that Layla and my Aunt Jess could enjoy forever, a story filled with warmth, imagination, and the special bond they share.
Just Mousey and the Full Moons was written from a place very close to my heart. I have always been a moon girl, and that same love for the moon has been shared by both my daughter and my granddaughter. There is something so special about looking up at the night sky and feeling connected through its beauty and wonder.I wanted to create a book that could introduce young children to the different names of the full moons throughout the year in a way that feels magical, memorable, and easy to enjoy. My hope is that it helps little ones learn while also creating sweet moments with the people they love.To me, moon people share a certain kind of spirit. If someone in your life loves the moon too, keep them close.
